In the heart of Umbria, between Todi and Spoleto. Rising from the hillside and surrounded by medieval wall, Acquasparta is renowned for its superb springs of thermal, mineral and curative waters. The fonte Amerino, or fonte of St. Francis, and two kilometers away, the fonte Furapane, are the two most important springs. Worth seeing is Palazzo Cesi (16th cent.), with frescoed rooms and finely carved ceilings, which once housed the Lincei Academy. Reached by a road through the woods, the Antico Casale rises on a little hill surrounded by the green of olive groves, vineyards, fields of wheat and sunflowers. Great care has been taken to bring back to life what was once a typical farmhouse of last century, preserving its architectural features, with its ceilings of beam and tiles, and providing furniture of the period, thus allowing guests to take a step backward in time while enjoying all the essential comforts of modern living.
